The Meeker County Board of Commissioners voted on Nov. 18 to approve an agreement with Ehlers to serve as investment advisers for the county and county-owned hospital.
Finance Director Heather presented the proposal, saying the adviser model would allow a more proactive approach to investment opportunities as interest rates change. Heather told the board that Ehlers’ fees would be taken from investment earnings rather than paid directly from county appropriations.
A motion to approve the Ehlers agreement was made by Commissioner Ullberg and seconded by Commissioner Samkee. The board approved the motion by voice vote; the clerk recorded the outcome as carried.
The board authorized the finance director and board chair to execute necessary documents related to the agreement. No further contract details or start date were recorded in the meeting minutes; staff said the agreement could start as early as next month after board approval.
