Planning board adopts amended agenda and minutes, hears staff updates and appoints new member pending swearing-in

Damien Buchanan opened the meeting and the board adopted the agenda after staff requested adding a housekeeping-items section. An unidentified member moved to approve the agenda with the addition and a second was given; the amendment carried by voice vote.
The board then adopted the September meeting minutes after a motion and second. Staff briefed the board on a suite of proposed text amendments, the Green Growth Toolbox grant, and a secured design grant for the Country Club greenway. Planning staff announced that the Board of Commissioners appointed Crystal Hubbell of Atkinson to fill a recently vacated seat; staff said she is expected to be sworn in and to attend the next meeting.
Members were reminded that four seats (Damien Buchanan, Jeff Bodwin, Delva Jordan and Jeffrey Pitts) have terms expiring in January and were encouraged to reapply if they wish to continue. Staff also previewed a likely December 2 master development plan hearing for Lanes Ferry and said January meetings will be held in Hampstead to accommodate district cases.
A motion to adjourn was made and the meeting was adjourned by voice vote.
