After returning from executive session, the Lawton City Council took separate votes on personnel actions discussed in closed session.
On the city manager review, a councilmember moved to approve a 3% salary increase for City Manager John Ratliff, a $16,500 bonus, an exemption from the five-year service requirement for vacation leave cash-out, and directed staff to draft an amended contract reflecting the changes. The motion was seconded and approved by roll call (council recorded affirmative votes consistent with roll call responses).
Later, following executive-session review of the city clerk, a motion to approve a 10% pay increase for City Clerk Donalyn Blasek Scharler, raise the vacation cap to 280 hours, and direct staff to bring back an updated contract was made, seconded and approved by roll call.
Council disclosed the items in open session and directed staff to prepare amended contracts for both positions. No dissenting votes were recorded in the roll-call tallies read into the record.
Next steps: staff will return with amended contracts reflecting the approved compensation and vacation-cap changes for formal codification and payroll processing.
