Richmond commissioners approve multiple hires, promotions, contracts and change orders; authorize litigation

Regional agreements and governance: The city adopted Order 25-186 to enter two agreements with the Bluegrass Area Development District to participate in the Bluegrass Recovery Initiative using opioid abatement funds for prevention, treatment and recovery work. The board also accepted surplus property lists for disposition on GovDeals (Order 25-173) and reappointed two members to the Madison County Airport Board (Order 25-181), contingent on joint county approval.
Litigation direction: After an executive session to discuss possible litigation, the board returned to regular session and voted to authorize the city attorney to pursue litigation concerning property at 405 Moberly Avenue.
