The Prior Creek City Council approved acceptance of low bids for two nuisance-abatement contracts during its Dec. 2 meeting.

Item v: the council accepted a low bid of $400 from Custom Cuts Lawn Care to abate property at 322 Southeast 4th. City staff said two other bids were received (Trammell Family Lawn Care and McWirt Trucking) and that the work will be paid from the real property acquisition reserve, nuisance abatement account (account number cited in the meeting).

Item w: the council similarly accepted a low bid of $595 from Custom Cuts Lawn Care to abate the property at 422 South Bend (transcript includes slight uncertainty on the address transcription). Again, staff said multiple bids were received and that funds will come from the same nuisance-abatement reserve account.

Council discussion noted that abatements involved clearing debris and trash. Councilors asked follow-up factual questions about the condition of the properties and their locations (one was identified as being on the west side of the street). Motions to accept the bids were moved and seconded and passed by roll call.
