Board approves Concord High Title I designation and school plans for Olympic and Riverview
Summary
The board approved Concord High School's Title I schoolwide plan and accepted school plans for Olympic High and Riverview Middle (both identified for comprehensive support and improvement) so those sites can implement targeted strategies.
The board approved three school-plan items Dec. 10: Concord High School's Title I schoolwide plan and the School Plans for Student Achievement for Olympic High School and Riverview Middle School.
Christina Filios explained that Concord qualifies for Title I schoolwide status based on 2024-25 free-and-reduced-price meal rankings, enabling the school to use Title I funding in a schoolwide framework. Filios explained the district ranks and allocates per-pupil Title I funds based on current CALPADS data and described how per-pupil allotments shift if schools move in or out of eligibility.
Olympic High School and Riverview Middle School were presented as comprehensive support and improvement (CSI) sites: Olympic due to graduation-rate indicators, Riverview under low-performing indicators. The board approved both school plans so sites may proceed to spend allocated CSI funds and implement targeted interventions.
Board members voted by roll call to approve the items; trustees asked clarifying questions about fund distribution and program monitoring.
