County extends temporary health‑department software contract while new system is implemented

"CDP is willing to continue to cover us up until next June... They did require a slight 5% increase in the fees for the contract," Hawthorne said during the presentation. Hawthorne said the department expects Patagonia to be operational by next June and that the extension provides continuity while staff complete the transition.
Commissioners asked procedural questions about previous notifications and assured staff they understood the need to continue electronic health‑record services. The board moved, seconded and approved the amendment authorizing the vice chair to sign the CDP agreement as presented.
The extension is temporary; county staff said they will return when Patagonia is fully implemented and that they had discussed the timing with health‑department leadership. No specific dollar amounts for the annual contract were provided in the meeting transcript; the board recorded approval by voice vote.
