Lake Forest marks inaugural Veterans Park Brick program; 47 applications and 90+ attendees

City staff on Wednesday presented a brief recap of the newly launched Veterans Park Brick Program and showed a short video of the Nov. 10 unveiling ceremony.
Acting Communications and Marketing Manager Aaron Rodriguez said the program — approved by the city council on June 3, 2025 as part of the 2025–2032 strategic business plan — allows residents to purchase engraved bricks installed near the military memorial at Veterans Park. "Bricks may be engraved with the service member's name, branch of service, years of service, or other brief tribute," Rodriguez said, adding that each brick includes installation and a commemorative certificate signed by the city council.
Rodriguez said the city received 47 applications for the inaugural program and that more than 90 honorees, family members and staff attended the unveiling just ahead of Veterans Day. Commissioners and attendees at the meeting thanked staff for the program and praised the ceremony and accompanying video.
Staff said applications are open for the next round and linked information and the application form on the city's website.
