Sweetwater council withdraws proposed zoning and land-use ordinance update after public hearing

The Sweetwater City Council on Nov. 18 voted to withdraw a previously proposed zoning and land-use ordinance update and its associated zoning district changes, returning the measure for future consideration.
The council first took the item off the Oct. 14 table and then opened a public hearing. A member of the public (Unidentified Speaker S5) thanked council and staff for listening to citizens and for work to "replicate these amendments," commending staff efforts. After public comment the council closed the hearing and, in regular session, a council member moved to withdraw the proposed ordinance update. The motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
Council did not adopt any replacement zoning language at the Nov. 18 meeting; the action withdraws the current proposal so staff and council can continue work before a future presentation. The withdrawal was a formal action by motion and voice vote; the council recorded no roll-call tallies in the transcript.
