Committee moves social media policy to full board, updates fee schedule and creates facilities planning committee

On Nov. 24 the Richland County Executive & Finance Committee advanced several administrative items to the county board and approved internal committee changes.

The committee voted to send a draft social media policy — which staff said covers county employees, elected officials, contracted employees and county board members — to the full board for consideration. Staff said department heads and the county attorney reviewed the draft.

The committee also approved updates to the county fee schedule affecting ambulance charges, the register of deeds, the property lister and the treasurer, and instructed staff to take an updated master fee schedule to the full county board for adoption. Staff said the fee schedule is reviewed each December as needed.

Finally, the committee approved creating a county facilities planning committee to develop a comprehensive 20‑year long‑range plan. The recommended membership was the chairs of the five standing committees, the county board chair and one at‑large member; the committee will review facility condition assessments and prioritize capital improvements.

The committee scheduled follow‑up and confirmed its next meeting date before adjourning.
