Rice Lake board approves minutes, consent agenda and policies; proclaims Wisconsin School Board Week

At its Sept. 22 meeting the Rice Lake Area School District board approved the Sept. 8 regular meeting minutes after a motion and second; the chair announced the minutes were approved by voice vote.
The board then approved a consent agenda that included three employment resignations and seven employment recommendations. "Seeing none, all in favor signify by saying aye," the chair said before the board voted to adopt the consent agenda.
Board members considered and adopted a proclamation recognizing October as Wisconsin School Board Week, a measure that the chair described as honoring the local board’s role in setting district policy and representing local education interests.
Policies and exhibits that had been presented at a prior committee hearing were brought forward for a second reading. A board member seconded the motion to approve the policies, and the chair announced the policies, exhibits and rules were approved by voice vote.
All procedural approvals occurred by voice vote during the meeting; there were no roll-call vote tallies read into the record for those items.
