Rockport-Fulton ISD board approves owner's-betterment funding for softball concessions and locker-room ceiling revisions

The Rockport-Fulton Independent School District board voted 7–0 on Nov. 10 to approve the use of owner—s betterment funds for two change requests in the high-school additions and renovations 2022 bond project.
The approved change requests were CR122 (softball concessions and bleacher flat work) and CR135 (locker-room ceilings). Staff explained CR122 addresses concrete, ramps and ADA access for the softball concessions and bleachers; CR135 covers a revised locker-room ceiling that includes a more three-dimensional, lit logo than the logo in the original package.
A board member moved to approve the use of owner—s betterment funds for the two requests; another member seconded the motion. A board member asked whether the money was coming from the bond; staff confirmed that the costs would be covered by bond funds already accounted for in the gross maximum price (GMP). "Yes," staff said when asked whether funds were coming from the bond.
Following brief discussion about scopes and extra electrical and grading costs, the presiding officer called the vote and recorded the motion as carrying 7–0.
The board subsequently recessed into executive session and then reconvened and adjourned at 6:11 p.m.
