Orland Park approves settlement in Sanchez litigation and completes accounts‑payable vote

The Village Board moved to approve a settlement agreement and general release to resolve the employment litigation William Sanchez v. Village of Orland Park. Village staff reported the case has generated about $460,000 in legal fees to date; the motion authorized the village manager to execute the settlement subject to village‑attorney review and carried after roll call.

Later in the meeting the board took up and approved accounts payable for 11/18–12/01/2025 in the amount of $2,315,170.36. Earlier in the meeting a trustee had sought to remove a $225,000 payment to a law firm from the list pending the litigation item, but that amendment was withdrawn and the payment discussion resolved. Trustee Healy noted a business relationship with a vendor and indicated he would abstain from that portion as required.
