Rockport-Fulton ISD board unanimously adopts canvass of Nov. 4 election results

The Rockport-Fulton Independent School District board of trustees unanimously approved a resolution canvassing the returns and declaring the results of the Nov. 4, 2025 general election at a special meeting on Nov. 17.

The matter was introduced by the presiding officer as agenda item No. 3: consideration and approval of “a resolution canvassing the returns and declaring the results of the November 4, 2025 general election and other matters in connection therewith.” Miss Yarnell moved that the board, “as the canvassing authority for the district general election, canvass the results of the November by adopting the proposed resolution declaring that the election was properly conducted and declaring the general election results.” Miss Alston seconded the motion.

The board took no public comment; the presiding officer stated, “None. Nobody signed up.” The presiding officer then called for a vote. Board members responded “Aye,” and the presiding officer announced, “Motion carries 4 0.” The resolution was approved by a 4–0 vote. The presiding officer then adjourned the meeting at 5:01 p.m.

Under the Texas Open Meetings Act (Texas Government Code chapter 551), the presiding officer opened the special meeting at 5:00 p.m. and stated the meeting had been duly posted. The board’s action was a formal canvass and declaration of the district’s Nov. 4 general election results; no amendments, further deliberations, or follow-up tasks were recorded in the meeting transcript.

The board did not identify individual vote-by-vote tallies by member name in the transcript; only the final tally (4–0) was announced. No public speakers or additional documentation were presented during the meeting.
