Seaford School District’s finance officer delivered a midyear briefing Nov. 17 and the board approved the financial report by motion.
The finance presentation said year-to-date revenues and expenditures are holding near plan. Staff highlighted a recent receipting of tax dollars in November (an additional roughly $1 million was noted in the presentation as arriving in November) and described operational adjustments including: restoring previously-held allocations after unit-count reconciliation, assessing indirect-cost (MCI) where appropriate to increase operations-related funds, and re-coding some budget lines to improve near-term cash flow. The presenter said total salaries remain within target percentages and that the district expects to use carryover and MCI adjustments to avoid disruptive midyear recoding in future years.
Board members moved to approve the financial report; the motion carried without recorded opposition at the meeting. Staff said they would continue to monitor revenue and make any required adjustments prior to final budget actions.
What happens next: Staff will return to the board with regular monthly financial reports and will highlight any significant deviations or required budget amendments.
