Hubbardston Select Board adopts FY27 budget guidance, holiday schedule and other routine approvals

At its Nov. 17 meeting the Hubbardston Select Board voted to adopt the FY27 budget policy and guidance and the FY27 capital improvement schedule, approved 2026 license renewals and set the town holiday schedule for 2026.
Staff explained the budget documents and said budget and capital requests will be submitted through the town's digital form system. A board member noted the digital form is similar to last year’s process and asked staff to confirm that question and support applicants who need help with the online submission system.
On holiday scheduling, the board discussed whether to give half‑day or full‑day closures for the eves of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's. After discussing coverage concerns and likely staff vacancies, the board voted to give full‑day closures on those eves. The board also approved the 2026 license renewals and reminded members to sign the licenses before departing the meeting.
The board also continued the tax classification hearing to Nov. 24 so assessors and the treasurer/collector can complete a review of the debt schedule and seek Department of Revenue confirmation.
