Facilities staff provided a construction update on current projects, showing photos and describing progress at West Green Elementary, the new board office and an agricultural greenhouse.
Speaker 2 (facilities/project lead) said West Green appears 'really like a school' with cabinetry, paint and flooring in place and classrooms visible. He noted bathrooms with epoxy floors and other finish work and said much of the base work for parking and curbs is complete. "Hopefully, December 10 is the 100% fire marshal inspection," he said, identifying a near-term milestone for final checks.
The presentation also included exterior photos of the Board of Education office entrance, enrollment-center access and the boardroom layout; staff said sheetrock and conduit work are ongoing and that drop ceilings and partitions will remain in some areas to allow flexible room division. For the greenhouse, presenters said footers were poured and framing was up during the week of the meeting and that ag students will soon be able to use the facility.
Board members and staff discussed remaining punch-list items and public communications. Staff urged caution when touring active work sites and promised updated information for any public inquiries during the holiday period.
No formal decisions were recorded during this update; the item was informational and the board thanked staff for the progress report.
