Plan Commission approves parcel split for Beecher Presbyterian Church parsonage

The Lawrenceburg City Plan Commission on Dec. 3 approved a parcel split requested by trustees of Beecher Presbyterian Church that separates a parsonage lot to allow sale as a single-family residence.
Archie Krauts, a land consultant who said he was representing the trustees, described the proposal and told the commission that "they're wanting to divide off, a lot with the parsonage to sell as a as a single family residence or sell to someone." Krauts said he worked with staff to ensure the division met requirements and that an easement had been added in front of a garage for a sanitary sewer line.
Staff and commissioners discussed zoning details. A commissioner noted that the separated house would carry existing setbacks and parking requirements may not apply because the structure is a preexisting nonconformity; staff confirmed, "It is a preexisting nonconformity, so it wouldn't have the parking." Staff also said the church intends to keep the garage with the remaining L-shaped church lot.
A motion to approve the parcel division was made, seconded and passed by voice vote; commissioners answered "Aye." No roll-call tally was recorded in the transcript. The applicant was directed to record the approved plat in the usual manner.
The commission took no additional conditions on the split in the recorded discussion.
