White County commissioners approved a set of budget amendments and administrative appointments during their regular meeting.
The commission adopted three items from the Budget Committee: a budget amendment listed as 98 12 25 for $11,350 as a half match for library computer upgrades; a TCI grant for sheriff’s department training equipment for $13,145; and a $300 amendment to the General Purpose School Fund to pay for a youth wellness survey. The Budget Committee items were presented by the chairman and approved by roll call (recorded as 10 yes, 4 absent).
The body also unanimously approved reappointments to a local board — Ashley Dacus and Jason Sparks were named — with the clerk clarifying Sparks is filling a remaining term that runs through Dec. 31. A separate vote approved a slate of notaries announced by the clerk: Shannon Geer, Brenda Johnson, Chelsea Madden, Wynette Maynard, Rhonda Otto, Ashley Stover and Lisa Yoder.
During old business, a commissioner raised a discrepancy in the posted attendance spreadsheet showing two absences in January for that commissioner; the clerk agreed to recheck the record. The commission voted to remove the attendance spreadsheet from the published minutes pending that review (roll call recorded as 10 yes, 4 absent).
The chair also said the January full-court meeting would move from Martin Luther King Day to Tuesday, Jan. 20, and reminded commissioners that statements of interest to the state are due Jan. 31. The meeting adjourned following routine motions and a closing vote.
