West Bend Plan Commission shifts April and November 2026 meetings around elections

The Plan Commission of the City of West Bend reviewed its calendar for 2026 on Nov. 18 and moved two monthly meetings to Wednesdays to avoid election-day conflicts. John, the city staff member presenting the calendar, said the commission typically meets the first Tuesday of each month but recommended moving the April meeting to Wednesday, April 1, 2026 to avoid an election-day conflict and to facilitate central count timing. John also noted a Wednesday, Nov. 4 meeting date tied to elections in 2026.
"So we moved it up to April 1," John said, explaining that keeping the meeting on the following Tuesday would fall on election day and pushing it further into April would disrupt approvals and the schedule for council meetings.
John said commissioners did not need to formally approve the dates at the meeting but asked members to flag scheduling conflicts quickly. The presiding officer asked John (or Ashley) to send the 2026 calendar as an electronic appointment so commissioners can accept and block the dates on their calendars.
Commissioners were reminded that five members are required for a quorum and that telephone call-in is acceptable if a member cannot attend in person. John also said he will not attend the December meeting for personal reasons but expected Jim to run that meeting; he offered to be reachable the morning of Dec. 2 if questions arise. The meeting adjourned afterward.
