Morrison County Administrator Lamont presented his annual administration report to commissioners on Nov. 18, outlining workforce, benefits and facilities work completed in 2025 and priorities for 2026.
Lamont highlighted a health insurance redesign and ongoing union negotiations, then turned to workforce metrics. "On average, if you take those 3 years and you get the average there, 2025 showed a 47% reductions in positions vacated," he told the board, presenting comparative charts that he said translate into lower transition costs. He estimated that lowered turnover could theoretically save the county about $1.6 million in position transition expenses when compared with prior averages.
Lamont also described leadership development and onboarding initiatives, quarterly recognition events, ADA improvements to courthouse access, a new DNR sticker printing machine for license bureaus and a walking workstation program intended to support staff wellness. He noted ongoing work on expense management and the use of internal systems for reimbursements and said the county is preparing to implement state‑mandated paid family and medical leave in 2026.
Commissioners praised the report and noted the role of board support and departmental leadership in producing positive workplace outcomes. Lamont said he will continue to bring policy and budget items to the board as projects move from planning to implementation.
