Board approves $25.6 million in contract awards for Starkweather Elementary renovation

The presenter said the project budget is set at $33,680,000 and that the bids came in at a favorable value.
The motion to approve the Starkweather Elementary renovation and addition project awards was made and seconded; the board voted 22aye22 and the motion carried.
Property and finance also presented a recommended 26-27 capital reserve project for the Ruston High School Field House mechanical upgrade: a bid to Snyder Hoffman Associates for $19,009.20 with a total project budget of $250,000. That recommendation was presented for approval.
The committee reported budget-model changes for the 26-27 projection, including a fund-balance designation increase for future millage of $1,325,000 and a reported increase in the 26-27 budget gap of $139,005.34; the overall summary of all funds and the post-adjustment gap was cited as $12,587,000. The presenter said administrators will continue to seek savings to reduce millage impact.
