The West Bend Community Memorial Library Board recorded four formal actions Nov. 18, each approved by voice vote during the meeting.
Approve minutes and October expenditures: A motion to approve the Oct. 21 board minutes with two requested corrections (restore deleted musical garden notes; correct a recorded recusal to an approval for Esplanade attending a closed session) and to accept October expenditures was moved by Joseph and seconded by Brett. The motion carried on a voice vote.
Approve contracting Wills for a strategic plan: The board moved and approved contracting Wills to produce a strategic plan (the meeting referenced a not-to-exceed figure of $20,494). The director said Wills estimated roughly six months from start to draft; the contract will be paid from the strategic-plan budget line.
Lower print fees: After discussion of peer pricing, the board voted to reduce print fees from the library’s prior levels (cited in discussion as 25¢ and 50¢) to 10¢ for black-and-white and 25¢ for color. Karen moved the change; the motion passed on voice vote.
Approve library closing dates and meeting schedule: The board approved the proposed library close dates (including certain holiday Saturdays around Christmas/New Year) and a meeting schedule similar to past years. Joseph moved the motion and Brett seconded; the motion carried on voice vote. The board noted the next regular meeting is Dec. 16.
None of the actions recorded a roll-call vote in the transcript; outcomes were announced on voice votes with "motion carries."
