The Plan Commission approved two extraterritorial certified survey maps on Dec. 2, recommending both for approval as presented.
Staff described the first CSM as a 2-lot reconfiguration at properties identified as 787184 and 7206 Pleasant Drive (Jennifer and Michael Thurman); it sits within the Wallace Lake Sanitary District and is identified as single-family in the land-use plan. Staff recommended approval.
The second CSM, by Chad and Marsha Tamez, is a 3-lot reconfiguration approximately one-third of a mile east of Highway 144 on the south side of East Newark Drive. Staff said Lots 1 and 2 will have direct access to Newark Drive and Lot 3 will access via a private easement; the CSM also reserves a 7-foot-wide road reservation consistent with the city's official map. Staff recommended approval for this CSM as well, and the commission approved both motions by voice vote.
Why it matters: Both CSMs are extraterritorial (within the city's review jurisdiction); they reconfigure parcel boundaries and access and are consistent with existing land-use designations. The Wallace Lake Sanitary District was noted as the service district for the Pleasant Drive properties. The actions were procedural approvals of survey plats rather than development permits; subsequent permits or development reviews may be required depending on future proposals.
