West Bend council adopts FEMA flood map updates, zoning changes and subdivision plat; approves multiple developer agreements

The West Bend Common Council on Dec. 15 adopted updated FEMA flood insurance maps and a package of related zoning and land-use measures, approved a 26-lot subdivision final plat and several developer agreements and easements.
City staff (Jim) told the council Ordinance No. 22 would adopt official FEMA Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) and a zoning map update and that Ordinance No. 23 would update Chapter 17, Subchapter 2 of the municipal code to align the city’s zoning text with the updated maps. ‘‘We are required by state statute and federal law for the federal flood maps to be approved,’’ Jim said, describing mostly minor changes in the flood study and saying maps are available on FEMA’s website and in city offices.
The council also approved a comprehensive plan amendment and rezoning (Ordinances No. 24 and 25) to change roughly 0.69–0.84 acres near Stratford Road and Highmount Road from single-family to two-family residential to allow a planned…
