The Washington City Council approved an ordinance Dec. 1 authorizing a boundary adjustment for CHAS H Helms Subdivision Plat 2 to combine lots 1, 2, 3 and part of lot 9.
Petitioner Brian Minzy appeared to describe the request and said the owners purchased the contiguous parcels and wish to remove internal lot lines to combine the parcels. City staff referenced materials in the packet and told council that the resulting lot meets setback and lot‑size requirements under the existing C‑2 overlay zoning. Staff also noted a Board of Adjustment variance had been granted regarding parking in the front for the new configuration.
Council held clarifying discussion with the petitioner and then approved the ordinance on second reading. Planning staff will record the adjusted plat with Franklin County per standard procedure.
