Summary
On Nov. 5 the commission appointed Commissioner Wolbert as vice chair, voted to cancel the Nov. 19 meeting, heard that Lavender has transferred its alcohol license and opened Lavender Pickleball, and was told misissued bingo licenses have been revoked and will be issued only to nonprofits operating from their own or leased facilities.

During the Nov. 5 meeting the Planning Commission handled several administrative items and staff updates. Commissioners nominated 'KC' and moved to appoint Commissioner Wolbert as vice chair; the motion passed on a 5-0 roll call. Vice Chair Wolbert then made a motion to cancel the Nov. 19, 2025 Planning Commission meeting; the motion was seconded and approved unanimously.
Staff reported that the alcohol license for the Lavender entertainment venue has been transferred to the new owners and that Lavender Pickleball has had a soft opening. Staff said they will perform an interior tour and follow up with commissioners on the venue's operations and exterior paint plan.
Staff also informed commissioners that police and code enforcement had identified a misinterpretation in the city's bingo-license process; licenses that were issued incorrectly have been revoked and going forward bingo permits will be issued only to nonprofits that own or lease premises used for their activities (for example, an Elk's Lodge, church or school), not to for-profit venues renting space occasionally. Commissioners asked staff to follow up on these items and to notify the commission via e-mail about enforcement or any investigations (including a follow-up on apparent truck-marshal activity observed at parts of the former Westminster Mall parking area). The meeting adjourned at 6:41 PM; the next meeting is scheduled for Dec. 3, 2025.
