Packaged liquor store at Avenue M heads back to council; P&Z had recommended disapproval

Assistant Planning Director Jeff Fisher told the commission that the packaged liquor store application on Avenue M had been recommended for disapproval by the Planning & Zoning Commission (presented as a 6–0 recommendation). Fisher said City Council considered the application on Nov. 6 and, as reported in the staff update, took action described by Fisher as approval (figures in the staff presentation were given as "2 approve, 4 to 1" and Fisher said Mayor Davis voted against). Fisher said the item was scheduled for a second reading at a council meeting three days later.
Fisher also updated commissioners that a zone-change request for property at 4181 Tower Road—associated with another annexation—had been recommended for approval by P&Z (stated as 9–0 in the presentation) and was scheduled for City Council consideration on Nov. 20.
