Summary
Council introduced and adopted Ordinance No. 1662 to repeal and reenact Chapter 5.44 of the Palmdale Municipal Code, updating definitions, nomination procedures, and lowering quorum from four to three to align with the civil code; staff said seven privately owned mobile-home spaces would be affected.
The Palmdale City Council on Oct. 7 introduced and adopted Ordinance No. 1662 to repeal and reenact Chapter 5.44 of the Palmdale Municipal Code, revising the city's mobile-home space rent-control regulations.
Sophia Reyes, the city's director of housing, told the council the ordinance updates internal department references to be generic (so future organizational name changes will not require code revisions), revises nomination procedures to match Section 2080.30 of the municipal code, and reduces the quorum requirement for the mobile-home board from four members to three to be consistent with the Civil Code. Staff said the change affects seven privately owned mobile-home spaces in the city.
Council moved and approved the ordinance during the meeting. Staff indicated they are available for questions and will carry out any administrative work required to implement the updated chapter.
