Mister Leffrenier, reporting for the finance subcommittee, said the city transferred $30,000 to cover the shared athletic/recreation director salary. He told members the district added a new line on the year‑to‑date report for a collective‑bargaining expense related to employee cell‑phone use and that out‑of‑district tuition has increased after two additional students were placed, prompting planned special‑education restructuring.
The subcommittee reported roughly $130,000 in the food‑service account has been spent on new appliances, repairs and installations so far this year but that the account remains healthy. Leffrenier also noted the athletic account is temporarily negative because of a prepaid payment to officials; he thanked Yen Yen restaurant for the recurring donation to support school food programs.
Separately, the chair reported that the Rockwell Committee’s trustees voted to withdraw $322,770 (based on available income) to fund this year’s competitive grants. The committee extended the application window from Dec. 1–Dec. 31 to Dec. 1–Jan. 31 to give applicants additional time; grant awards are scheduled to be voted on in February.
No additional financial votes were taken Monday beyond consent-agenda approval; committee members asked clarifying questions about accounting lines and the implications of increased out‑of‑district placements.
