The Gardner Conservation Commission voted to grant a certificate of compliance for DEP file 1600670 at 668 Acadia Road, with a condition that the applicant leave half of the silt fence in place on the driveway side until June 1 to allow vegetation to establish.
Josh Johnson of Grass Engineering told the commission the house has been completed and "everything looks really stable and good growth out there," and that a stone trench installed around the patio is functioning for infiltration. Commissioners and staff recommended tracking vegetative growth through the spring before removing erosion controls.
The commission’s approval was made contingent on the remaining silt fence being left in place until the June 1 date discussed at the meeting and on the applicant notifying the commission’s agent when the vegetation meets the expected cover. The motion to approve, with that contingency, passed on a roll call vote.
