The Terrebonne Parish Council on Nov. 19 presented a proclamation honoring Fire Chief Corey Henry on the occasion of his retirement. The proclamation summarized Henry’s career with the parish beginning in March 2000, his promotions through the fire department, leadership during recovery from Hurricane Ida, creation of an in-house training academy, and the opening of the downtown Houma Fire Department Museum in 2025.
Chief Henry thanked the council and residents for the opportunity to serve and said he looks forward to spending time with family and remaining active in his church. Council members offered personal remarks praising his leadership, the department’s recovery work after Ida and his service to the community.
The council record shows the proclamation was read into the minutes and that Chief Henry and his family were present for brief remarks.
