Stadium rebuild moves forward after insurance clearance; press box and field house work underway

Facilities lead Rangel told the board that the district "finally got the green light on from the insurance in order to proceed with the rebuild." A local contractor is on site and approximately a week and a half into work, Rangel said, and he projected some tasks may complete earlier than initial estimates.
Project manager Tim Glizer (Weaver Jacobs) provided a site overview, describing the home and visitor buildings, press box, field house and concessions. Glizer said foundations and plumbing rough‑ins are progressing: "Structural steel has started on [the press box]..." and the field house had footings and beams poured recently. He reported the grading for the south parking lot and rough grading for the west parking lot are complete and that the storm system is roughly 90% finished, with sanitary work pending arrival of manhole boxes.
Glizer and staff reviewed a near‑term schedule: remaining foundation pours targeted before Thanksgiving and structural steel deliveries scheduled for the end of the week or beginning of next week; track lining is scheduled for the 18th and 21st depending on sequencing. They emphasized some systems (speaker poles, scoreboards, site utilities) still require final rough‑in and tie‑ins.
The board was told a special called meeting will go into greater detail on the stadium and insurance; staff said they will continue to provide construction updates and return with additional details at the called meeting.
