On Nov. 17, 2025 the Town of Pittsboro Planning Board voted to recommend approval of PB 25596, a Turkey Creek conditional‑zoning amendment that adds ‘‘office/medical/dental’’ and ‘‘office park medical/dental’’ to the list of permitted uses in the M‑1 (blue) portions of the site.
A McAdams representative presenting the petition said the change is a single, narrow addition to the list of permitted uses and noted that altering an existing conditional zoning requires the board to process the amendment again. "Office medical slash dental, office park medical slash dental," the presenter said when summarizing the phrase to be added.
The chair disclosed an employment relationship with McAdams and said they had no involvement in the project; the chair offered to recuse if the board wished. The transcript records no board motion asking the chair to recuse. A board member asked whether a packet page was missing; the presenter clarified that only the changed pages were included and that other conditions were not being reopened.
A motion to recommend approval was made and seconded (the chair recorded the motion as "Motion by Charity, second by Bridal"). The chair called the vote and announced the motion passed unanimously. The transcript does not record individual roll‑call votes or a numerical tally.
The board then concluded its business and adjourned. The meeting record shows the planning board will next meet in December, according to board remarks during adjournment.
