The Terrebonne Parish School Board finance committee voted to forward a resolution authorizing the superintendent or board president to sign a subrecipient agreement to accept Community Development Block Grant—Disaster Recovery (CDBG‑DR) funds administered by the Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government.
Miss Becky Breaux described the district’s share as roughly $2,600,000 to replace instructional equipment and supplies for Lewis Miller Terrebonne Career and Technical High School as it relocates to the new Fletcher campus and completes renovations. Breaux said CSRS and All South are managing grant administration and procurement to ensure compliance; she told the committee purchases will be coordinated with teachers, local businesses and facilities staff so equipment matches instructional needs.
Board members asked who would be accountable for documentation and post‑award audits. Breaux said the district and the consolidated government will share accountability: the district will maintain its records for its share of purchases and will provide procurement and documentation to the direct recipient for audit review.
The committee approved the recommendation with no objections; staff said purchases will be timed so most equipment will be installed after the new facility is ready, with limited pre‑purchase and storage if necessary. The recommendation will be placed before the full board for final approval.
Next steps: superintendent or board president to sign subrecipient agreement after full‑board approval; staff to continue coordination with grants manager and program teachers.
