The draft also includes an exception allowing brick‑and‑mortar restaurants to operate their own food trucks near their storefronts and a mechanism to authorize food‑truck operation in City parks through park‑rental approval.
Commissioners questioned fingerprinting provisions and enforcement, suggested spot inspections be possible between annual checks, and discussed ADA and wastewater‑discharge concerns. Staff said annual inspections are used in comparable local cities and that environmental‑health guidance informed the proposed language; code enforcement and police would respond to complaints and could cite violations. The Commission voted to forward the draft ordinance with staff's recommendation to Council.
