The Sioux Falls School Board on Dec. 8 approved two groups of policy updates and later voted to recess for an executive session.

Brett (Speaker 11) presented 11 policies on second reading (no public comments or changes since their first reading) and 10 policies on review/revise (mostly minor edits; one DBJ change updated a dollar amount to match state law). Trustees said they had reviewed the items in a prior work session and moved to approve both sets on voice votes.

Later in the meeting, a trustee moved to recess until 6:40 p.m., at which time the board planned to resume the general meeting and go immediately into executive session. The motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.

The board did not announce executive-session topics in the public record at the time of recess.
