The Virginia Beach Planning Commission on Dec. 10 approved the consent agenda, which included staff-recommended rezonings and conditional use permits that staff and the commission indicated were unopposed. The commission recorded a 10–0 recommendation to approve the consent items, noting abstentions recorded for some site-visit minutes and for item 10 by Commissioner Plumlee.
Commissioner Mouch presented the nominating committee’s slate for 2026 officers: Commissioner John Costin for chair and Commissioner Beyler for vice chair. The nominations were seconded and approved by recorded vote 10–0. Commissioners offered brief remarks of appreciation to outgoing leadership and to staff.
Routine consent items will be forwarded as recommendations to City Council for final action. The commission noted applicants on consent will be contacted by staff regarding scheduling before council.
