Pulaski advances food-truck ordinance, schedules Dec. 9 public hearing

Pulaski’s Board of Mayor and Aldermen on Nov. 25 approved the first reading of a food-truck ordinance that would establish a registration and permitting system for mobile food vendors.
City staff and aldermen said the measure is intended to ensure food trucks meet safety requirements for gas containers, cooking apparatus and other equipment. “This allows us to register our food trucks to permit them, make sure they have all the safety of things in place for their gas containers and cooking apparatuses and so forth,” said mister Keith during the introduction of the ordinance.
The motion to pass the ordinance on first reading was made, seconded and approved by roll call. The board set a public hearing on the proposal for Dec. 9, 2025 at 12:05 p.m.; miss Tiffany confirmed the hearing date during the meeting.
If adopted after the public hearing, the ordinance will create a registration process and permit requirements described in the first-reading text. Staff signaled the measure returns to the board for subsequent readings following the public comment period.
Next steps: staff will advertise the Dec. 9 hearing and prepare materials for the public-facing hearing.
