The Village of Orland Park held its 2025 Christmas Parade along Ravinia Avenue, ending with a tree lighting and the village’s first combined fireworks-and-drone show, organizers said. Dozens of community groups, schools and businesses marched or rolled north from 151st Street to 147th Street.
Event announcer, speaking on behalf of Mayor James Dodge and the Village Board, thanked platinum sponsors including Comcast, Christopher Burke Engineering, Dave & Buster’s, Northwestern and Waste Management, and listed event sponsors such as Astound, Bite Size Dentistry, Renewal by Andersen, Sunrun and Universal Windows Direct. The announcer said the procession included “over 50” units and highlighted lead units from the Orland Park Fire Protection District and the Village of Orland Park Police Department.
The parade featured local non‑profits and businesses, including the American Dance Center, Elevate Dance Company, Conquer Dance Company, the Orland Park Public Library, Orland Youth Association, Halfway Home Animal Rescue, Granite Mountain, AutoMedics Inc., and the Orland Park Pioneers football and cheer programs. Announcer remarks described the Fire Protection District as operating six fire stations and employing “over 114” career firefighters who are cross‑trained as paramedics. The Orland Park Public Library’s 93,000‑square‑foot building—opened in September 2004—was also noted as a participant.
A highlight advertised during the parade was the Ozinga Merry Mixer, a cement mixer decked out with more than 32,000 programmed lights and animated sequences. Local food vendors and small businesses were present, with Joey’s Red Hots and Andy’s Frozen Custard among the named vendors.
Organizers reminded attendees that the tree lighting was scheduled for about 5:00 p.m. east of Village Hall and that the Carl Sandburg High School Chamber Singers would lead carols. An emcee invited volunteers and the crowd to help with a countdown; after the crowd’s countdown and cheers, the emcee closed the program by thanking attendees and wishing them a “Merry Christmas” and “Happy holidays.”
Santa Claus arrived as a featured guest and, according to the announcer, would assist with the tree lighting and meet residents shortly after the lighting. Following the ceremony, the schedule included local performances and community activities organized by area dance and choir groups.
No formal votes or legislative actions were recorded in the event presentation; the program consisted of announcements, performances and community participation. The parade organizers reiterated sponsor acknowledgements and provided a schedule of post‑parade entertainment and the new fireworks-and-drone show.
The event proceeded without any formal motions or administrative decisions recorded on the public microphone; organizers thanked the crowd and encouraged residents to stay for the scheduled post‑lighting programming.
