After convening in closed session to discuss board and personnel matters and property negotiations, the James City County Board of Supervisors reconvened in open session, certified that only the announced topics were discussed and took two formal actions.
The board appointed Frank Ferguson to the Social Services Advisory Board for a term expiring Dec. 23, 2029. The appointment was moved and approved by roll call.
The board also considered and adopted a resolution authorizing acquisition of a parcel along Pocahontas Trail (resolution language presented after closed session). The chair called the roll and the motion carried.
Earlier in the meeting the board had moved to add a closed session item for property acquisition to the agenda; the closed session covered appointments, personnel matters related to the planning commission, disposition/acquisition of publicly held real property (including Jamestown Road and property along Pocahontas Trail) and contract award discussions related to 4900 Stadium Road. The board certified compliance with the Code of Virginia procedures when it returned to open session.
