The document elevates guiding principles — including service‑focused public service, fiscal efficiency and transparent communications — and organizes county priorities into goal areas that will drive budget documents and departmental planning. The presentation emphasized public safety, collaboration with schools on education initiatives, technology investments (noting recent Axon body‑camera rollouts), economic development and a new emphasis on recruiting and retaining a skilled workforce. The plan also calls for continued work on attainable and workforce housing.
Board members asked questions, acknowledged staff and consultant work, and moved to adopt the plan. The motion passed by roll call.
Staff said the plan’s icons and goal structure will be integrated into onboarding and budget materials, and emphasized the desire to make the plan meaningful to county employees and the public.
