SOCORRO, Texas — The Socorro ISD Board of Trustees used a brief special meeting on Dec. 10 to spotlight student and staff achievements across the district, recognizing winners of a district art contest, championship athletic teams, award-winning counseling programs and the Pebble Hills High School marching band.
Daniel Escobar, the district's chief communications officer, opened the recognitions program "and it is my pleasure to introduce tonight's recognitions," reading a list of honorees and asking students, teachers and parents to the front for photographs.
