Staff presented a draft sewer-credit agreement with Northside Hospital Cherokee intended to formalize a previously approved one-time credit tied to evaporation from the hospitals cooling tower. The proposed agreement would require Northside to install two dedicated meters (one on the evaporative cooling tower and one on the blowdown) and to make those meters accessible via the citys AMI read system so staff can apply a monthly credit on the hospitals utility account.
If meter reads are not received or meters are out of service, the agreement would give the city authority to notify the hospital and require compliance within 60 days; failure to comply would result in the hospital being charged full consumption and potential ineligibility for credits. Staff said the formula for calculating the monthly credit is in the draft, and staff will prepare resolution language for council consideration at the next meeting.
