Council approved a proposal from Black & Veatch to update the citys wastewater system master plan at the Nov. 20 meeting. Staff said the plan is a required five-year update under the Metro North Georgia Water Planning District and will cover wastewater flow projections through 2070, hydraulic conveyance evaluation, capacity planning and a capital improvements plan.
Staff reported Canton currently is permitted to treat 7,000,000 gallons per day and described system assets including 33 pump stations, 17 miles of force main and 110 miles of gravity sewer. The proposed work is expected to take about 12 months. A council motion to approve the Black & Veatch proposal for $509,319 carried unanimously.
