Jennifer Crawford received a proclamation and a series of tributes from elected officials, agency leaders and community groups during the Yucaipa City Council meeting on Dec. 8.
The mayor read a proclamation highlighting Crawford’s 26 years of service in roles including management analyst, director of general services, city clerk, assistant city manager and interim city manager. Speakers included Supervisor Dawn Rowe, water district and neighboring-city officials, representatives of Crafton Hills College, the Yucaipa Valley Kiwanis Club, the YMRA board and local Rotary members, who praised Crawford’s leadership on projects ranging from city facilities to the CERT program and community events.
Crawford spoke about her tenure, citing the community’s ‘small‑town heart’ and thanking staff, family and residents for support. She served as interim city manager for nine months and emphasized teamwork and commitment to public service in her remarks.
Council members and staff took a group photo and presented tokens of appreciation. Staff indicated that the community will miss Crawford’s institutional knowledge and leadership; city operations will continue under interim arrangements and incoming city management transitions to be announced.
The recognition was ceremonial and no policy action resulted directly from the presentation.
