The St. Joseph County Regional Water and Sewer District on Dec. 1 approved a financial-services engagement for 2026 and adopted its proposed 2026 meeting schedule.
During the treasurer’s report, the district's finance staff said monthly financial statements and accounts payable were not yet available and would be processed at the board’s January meeting. The treasurer presented a request from the district’s financial adviser (transcript shows varying spellings: Krone/Kron/Crown and Associates) seeking a monthly fee of $2,000. The treasurer stated, “It currently is at $17.50, and it has not changed since 2018,” as recorded in the meeting transcript.
Board members discussed service quality; one board member asked Jessica Clark whether she was satisfied with the service, and Clark replied that the provider had been responsive and kept invoices moving. A board member recommended approval of the 2026 engagement and the board approved the motion by voice vote.
Separately, staff presented a proposed 2026 meeting schedule. Board members discussed an April meeting timing and a July date that had not been set; the board moved to adopt the schedule and approved it by voice vote.
