The City Council of Baker voted to annex a parcel adjacent to Agway Systems on Ronson Road after Suzanne Bourgeois, speaking for Agway, asked the council to include the lot in the company's existing complex so the firm can develop it.

"I'm Suzanne Bourgeois from Agway Systems," Bourgeois told the council as she described the lot as a new parcel next to the company's Ronson Road property and said the company "do plan to build on that lot." Council staff told members the tax and application materials were included in the packet and planning and zoning recommended the annexation.

The presiding officer asked for a motion; the motion was made by the president and seconded by Dr. Charles Vincent. There were no public questions or objections from attendees, and the council adopted the annexation by voice vote.

The annexation will bring the Ronson Road lot into the municipal zoning and tax rolls for Baker so the property can be developed as part of Agway's industrial complex. The council record notes the site has long been associated with industrial uses across the rail tracks near the area identified in the packet.

Next steps for the property are local permitting and any required building reviews by Baker planning staff; Bourgeois told the council Agway intends to proceed with construction once approvals are complete.
