Richfield Council delays pawnbroker hearing, extends license and approves BRIM restaurant liquor license

The Richfield City Council on Nov. 25 approved two licensing items after staff disclosed a publication error had delayed proper notice for one hearing.
City staff said a notice for a 2026 pawnbroker license renewal for Metropolitan Gun Incorporated was not published on the required timeline. The council set the public hearing to consider the 2026 pawnbroker license for Jan. 13, 2026, and extended the existing 2025 pawnbroker license through Jan. 14, 2026. Staff told the council the extension has no operational impact on the business and the applicant preferred the later date.
Separately, after confirming required documentation and a background check, the council approved on‑sale wine and 3.2% malt liquor licenses for Brim 2 LLC (d/b/a BRIM restaurant) at 2910 66th Street West. The council welcomed the new business and voted to approve the licensing motion by roll call.
Both items passed by unanimous roll calls.
