Captain Mullins told the Indian Trail Town Council at its special December meeting that the police department’s November activity included 1,158 total citations, with 725 actual charges and 433 warnings, and two targeted speed-enforcement events that generated about 30 citations.
Mullins said the department completed 25 ABC inspections in November, most resulting in verbal warnings, and handled 133 accidents, 219 paper-service actions and 1,881 preventive patrols. He highlighted a single statistic that stood out to his team: “just the month of November, we had 5 motor vehicles stolen in the town of Indian Trail,” Mullins said, and urged residents to lock vehicles and remove purchased packages from cars.
The captain also reported 105 citations issued for drivers stopped without a driver’s license and encouraged holiday-season vigilance as the department expands monthly public reporting. Mullins asked staff to post the town’s monthly statistics on the town Facebook page on a regular schedule so residents can view them.
The report included mention of a department charity event: a voluntary officer beard fundraiser that raised money for the Hometown Heroes foundation and a recent toy-drive effort that he said resulted in multiple truckloads of delivered toys.
No formal action was taken; the presentation was informational and followed by council thanks.
